This week theme for Illustration Friday is: brave. Had so many ideas on this one… but this one sums them all I think. Taking the plunge, jumping in the unknown. That, to me… is brave.

Perspective
We are beginning the month of March… snow is melting, spring is around the corner… March should be busy as always, magazines will be preparing their summer issues. I still was able to do the IF (illustration Friday) of the week!! Here is my take on this week’s subject: perspective.
Déjà début Mars… la neige qui fond, le printemps à nos portes… Mars sera encore une fois très occupé j’en suis certaine, car c’est la période où les magazines préparent les parutions pour l’été. J’ai quand même réussi à faire une autre illo pour IF (illustration Friday) de cette semaine!! Voici ce que ça donne… sujet: perspective.
Ok I am soooo late in my news, that I am posting my coaster promo from December (guilty face here).
Yes it is February… and yes I am so late to post this. But I have good reasons (we always do, right??)…More news to come.. and no I am not pregnant. Ho… about the coaster… theme for this year was “The 60’s and the 70’s. All of the wonderful illustrators at AGM came upe with beautiful concepts and ideas. Such a wonderful group of people.

Bien oui je suis en retard pis pas à peu près… je colle ici le sous-verre (promo) que j’ai fais pour Décembre (rouge de gène, c’est possible?) Car bien oui c’est déjà Février et la follie des coeurs à chaque Dollorama du coin. Mais j’ai de bonnes raisons pour ne pas avoir mis à jour mon site (ouais on en a tous/toutes, pas vrai?) Et non je ne suis pas enceinte, car oui ca serait l’ultime raison! Bon pour le sous-verre, le thème était “Les années 60′ et 70. Chaque illustrateurs d’AGM ont fait de superbes illustrations sur ce thème. Un groupe formidable que celui de mon agente.

Is it me, or am I the only one who doesn’t get it? Do people actually make money spamming? I hope not. Do people click on all those annoying spam that gets in our emails, and even here, in the comments we get (!) There is also the famous letters from Mlle Sarah or Mr James Edouard, who claimed they choose ME (but do not seem to know my name) so they can get that 20 millions and (of course) give me one, if I help them, of course. Do people actually believe all these charlatans? Don’t know but I know I am soooo tired of them. Please get a life, spam-people!! Because I do have one and noooooo time reading your spam!

Voici une illustration éditoriale que j’ai fait (ca fait un pti bout) sur les pourriels, hé oui, le fameux spam. J’ai vraiment de la misère à comprendre comment ils peuvent faire de l’argent en équeurant le monde de la sorte. Je peux juste pas croire que quelqu’un, quelque part, click la dessus!… Ils ont même commencer à envoyer du spam dans les commentaires ici même, sur les blogs… par chance qu’il existe des filtres, car ce blog serait innonder d’annonces de Casinos! Et puis il y a les fameuses lettres de Mlle Sarah et de Mr. James Edouard, qui, même si ils ne savent pas mon nom, voudrait bien (dans un grand élan de générosité) me donner un petit million (si je veux bien les aider) (!). Je ne peux pas croire que ca fonctionne, cette magouille… enfin bref, si eux n’ont que ca à faire, envoyer des trillions de spams, j’aimerais leur dire que moi, j’ai une vie, et pas le temps pour eux!
I illustrated the cover of this month Marketing magazine! They are featuring Mosaic, an amazing 
company doing what is call “Experiential Marketing”. You can read the article online here. Also did a collage/illustration spread on the same “Circus” theme that turned out really great. These guys sure know how to to produce great events! Will paste a low resolution of the spread here later, when I have time… yes, it seems that I will start to get busy again… so will have to put a hold on my personnal projects. But that is fine with me!! Let’s be zen… it is nice to have a balance between the two.
J’ai illustré la couverture du mois de Juin pour le magazine Marketing! Ils parlent de Mosaic, une compagnie assez incroyable qui est en fait une Expérience Marketing. J’ai aussi fait pour eux une double page, que je collerai ici sous peu… quand j’aurai du temps. Je ne peux pas me plaindre car les contrats reprennent et je devrai lâcher un peu mes projets personnels… mais je reste zen et je me dis que ca prend une balance des deux, de toute facon!
Really really happy with the result of this illustration I did for the cover of the novel The Flight of the Wooden Dancer, by South-African author Yusuf Manjoo. It has been published by Autumn Light. It is a very inspiring book. You can find it on Amazon.com or at Barnes and Noble. Here is a small excerpt about the story:

I am re-doing the eyecreate website at this very moment… so you will have to come back in a day or two to see a more “finished” result.. but having a lot of fun doing so at the same time!!
