Cover for Marketing magazine / Couverture pour le Marketing magazine

I illustrated the cover of this month Marketing magazine!  They are featuring  Mosaic, an amazing Marketing Magazine, June 2009company doing what is call “Experiential Marketing”. You can read the article online here.  Also did a collage/illustration spread on the same “Circus” theme that turned out really great. These guys sure know how to to produce great events! Will paste a low resolution of the spread here later, when I have time… yes, it seems that I will start to get busy again… so will have to put a hold on my personnal projects. But that is fine with me!! Let’s be zen… it is nice to have a balance between the two.

Book cover

Book cover illustration for The Flight of the Wooden DancerReally really happy with the result of this illustration I did for the cover of the novel The Flight of the Wooden Dancer, by South-African author Yusuf Manjoo. It has been published by Autumn Light. It is a very inspiring book. You can find it on Amazon.com or at Barnes and Noble.  Here is a small excerpt about the story:

Book cover illustration for The Flight of the Wooden Dancer

Two artists fly from two corners of the world to Vienna to unearth the mystery of the father of romantic music Beethoven’s lost ballet The Creatures of Prometheus. They are like marionettes pulled by the strings of Beethoven, always looking up to the sky to identify the invisible hands surrounding the series of coincidences which draw them together. In the city of music all artists are drawn to the fire of Prometheus, rising toward the sun, turning around the horizon in circles until man lies suspended between the spinning earth and the dizzy sky. In this fantastic exploration into romantic relationships the artists’ reality tends ever closer to magic realism as their stories merge in a climatic rhyming symphony.

Cut & paste

I was searching for a self-portrait, and found this … I did this collage last year for Poder Magazine, a great mag that added me as one of their monthly contributors. It is really a joy to work for them on a monthly basis. I titled it “Cut and Paste” because I feel I am doing a lot of that… yes, it is digital collage but still!  The only difference being that I do not have so much glue on my fingers. Collage is a real fun media, it gives you so much possibilities …

On inspiration…

I have found this quote today by Frank Tibolt… really like it:

We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action.

First thing first…

I am re-doing the eyecreate website at this very moment… so you will have to come back in a day or two to see a more “finished” result.. but having a lot of fun doing so at the same time!!

Later!
