Star gazing
Star gazing… (theme of the week for IF) seems like it’s been a while since I did just that. Look up at night. Wait for a shooting star… close your eyes and make a wish. Sometimes I am so hypnotized with this beautiful and luminous screen and it’s content – and boy do we have content: Facebook, Twitter, Google, Youtube…- that I sort of forget to look outside… and to GO outside. With this image I just wanted to show the link we feel with the universe when we look at the sky at night. It’s a feeling that no technological invention can beat. And it’s not about watching some body else’s life, it’s about living ours. I am turning this computer off for now, putting my sign on: Gone star gazing!”

Regarder les étoiles (le thème de la semaine sur IF) … Ça fait si longtemps que j’ai pris le temps de faire ça. Regarder le ciel la nuit. Attendre de voir une étoile filante. Fermer les yeux et faire un souhait. Des fois je deviens tellement hypnotisée par ce beau petit écran lumineux et ce qu’il contient (car il en contient des trucs: Facebook, Twitter, Google, Youtube….) que j’oublie de regarder dehors… ou de SORTIR dehors! Avec cette image je voulais illustrer le lien qu’on peut ressentir avec l’univers en ne faisant que ca: regarder les étoiles. C’est quelque chose qui n’a pas son pareil, et ca même dans notre beau monde technologique. Arrêter de regarder les autres vivres leurs vie, et vivre la nôtre. On éteint tout et on va voir si les étoiles sont encore là ce soir?

Me too, need to remember to get outside. I get sucked into the digital world and forget to take a breather from time to time. I am a fan of your work as well, this one is so peaceful.

Hi Isabelle! just spotted this one, such a serene image, beautiful and what you said is so true! i watched the meteor shower here in the uk and it was truly wonderful, so often the internet can completely take over and we can sometimes forget the important stuff, that the ‘real’ world is the most amazing thing!
