Dessert

IF Dessert low 244x300 DessertThis week’s IF is dessert, with this quote that I like a lot:

“Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.”  ~ Ernestine Ulmer.

So like many of you I am really into Mad Men … so ok, had to put a Betty-type-of-girl-can-do-it-all-perfect-cupcake-you-name-it-Queen-of-the-house (wow that was something). Anyway the 1950′s and 60′s were also about the classic horror/monsters movies – Godzilla style. And TV, yep, it was all about television.  So here is my vision of “dessert”. Hope you like it!

——————-

à la Mad Men.

I think you commented on my site a while ago, and I never told you how much I like your work! This picture nails that 1950′s cheeriness/eeriness.

Hi Moira! Thanks for stopping by! I know how busy we can get so I appreciate it a lot :) Having fun with illustration Friday too, trying to find time to do an extra illo in a week is sometimes quite a challenge… but cool to share and view what so many people create with the same theme. Reminds me of “back in the days” at the university… one theme and 20 different idea/style/creation. hehehe… but with IF it is often 500 results. :)

Thanks Nina, Elise, Sonja, Eliza also!! Yes, Mad men is an incredible TV show. I would add a smiley here but I used all my quota for today hehehe. I am a smiley addict. Should have lived in 1950 when people were doing just that… smile. Ho… and smoke. Drink too.

Ha! I LOVE this piece so whimsical I love the wall paper and Godzilla – ha. I also like how you broke the composition with her feet stepping out of the frame – it adds another layer. Lovely piece ♥
