Freeze / Geler

All I could think of was… The Little Match Girl for this week’s theme on IF: freeze. Remember that story? Boy was it sad!! I think it was the saddest children story ever written!! First of, how cold would it be to walk in the snow barefoot? … and to sell matches !!… and not to be able to go home because your dad will beat you up… geee… and the end!! Not telling you the end (in case you have not read it hehehe) so anyway, the nice part with animated .gif is that my little Match girl can light as many match as she want!! Yes!! Infinite matches!!  There is hope!!! hehehe So on that positive note, I do wish you all a fantastic week, and if not, well think about the little match girl… see… your week can not be as BAD as that!!

She’s so small and sad against the world! Nice combination of elements. I like the animation too.

It really surprise me to see her lighting the match!!
Yes, The Little Match Girl is one of the most saddest stories I’ve ever heard and very real if we think how many children are living like this today.
I think your illustration shows the beauty and tragedy on it very well.

Thank you Ana for the nice words on my illustration!! Totally agree with you, such a sad story, and to think of children living in poverty today, is even more saddening, isn’t it?… :-/
