Subject of Illustration Friday for this week is: phenomenon. The transformation of the butterfly is a true phenomenon to me. It really captures the essence of a transformation. It’s kind of magical and it made me think of how much we all do that… transform, change, grow. And it’s a good thing.  When I was eleven or twelve, I was so very timid and shy. Was hiding in my cocoon. I eventually got out.  It took time… but it did happen. Spread my wings and opened up to people around me. So this illustration is also a Christmas card to you, and specially if you are a teen still in your cocoon. The transformation will happen… it’s just a question of time. You may not know it yet, but your wings have amazing colors, they are just in hiding for now. Happy Holidays ! And may 2011 be phenomenal.

Le sujet d’ Illustration Friday de cette semaine est: phénomène. En ce qui me concerne, au numéro un des phénomènes: la transformation du papillon. Il y a quelque chose de magique dans cette fameuse transformation de la chenille au papillon. J’ai toujours aimé l’idée du changement, de grandir. Il y a des changements qui se font très rapidement mais la plupart se font très très tranquillement. Quand j’avais 11 ou 12 ans, j’étais très (mais très timide). Je me cachais littéralement dans mon cocon. J’ai fini par en sortir! Alors cette illustration est aussi ma carte de Noël… et elle s’adresse particulièrement à celui ou celle qui est encore à l’intérieur de son cocon. La transformation se fera, inévitablement. Et ce qui en sortira sera à ton image:  coloré et magique. Joyeuses fêtes! Je vous souhaite une année 2011 absolument phénoménale.
